Hello fellow readers! I am Yuki, a 20 year old student pursuing Diploma in Professional Communication. With all the lockdowns that are happening all over the world, I hope that wherever you are reading this, you are safe. This global pandemic is a good time for us to reflect on what is important and that we really should appreciate every second of the day.
Photography has always been something I enjoyed as I was introduced to it by my father when I was just a little girl. During this lockdown, I was blessed with the opportunity to take pictures of the wonderful things around me. Moments were cherished and documented as the pandemic really brought families closer together.

Nature has never been greener and fuller thanks to this pandemic. As horrible the situation can seem, we cannot deny that this lockdown has definitely improved the state of our flora and fauna. The trees are bright with colours and flowers are blooming beautifully. Fluffy clouds and the heat of the sun invites us to really appreciate the greenery around us. So, take a walk! Enjoy all the beauty nature has to offer and remember to breathe in the fresh air that is sure to calm your soul, especially during this hectic period that we are all in.

It is tough, not being able to visit your friends and the people you want to meet. However, this is the perfect time to reflect on the time you’ve spent with the ones you love. This is a picture of my boyfriend. I was blessed that I was able to meet him before the lockdown started. It really made me appreciate the time I got to spend with the ones I love. The moments spent together are now more valuable and treasured because of the limited amount of time we get. The situation really differs based on how you look at it. You can see it as an important period of time for you to bond and strengthen your relationship with the ones you love. However, you can also see it as a challenge to test the power of your relationship. It depends.

The pandemic has definitely presented me with the opportunity to get better at my hobby and also my side job, makeup! With the extra amount of time to myself, I used this chance to explore different looks and styles that I have always wanted to try but never had the time to do. It was thrilling and fun as you will never know how it would turn out in the end. Different elements and texture can be added along the way when doing the look which always makes the experience unpredictable. This pandemic has really taught me how to appreciate the beauty of the little things around me, like creating art.
All in all, we are all going through a rough period of time, some worse than others. However, we must try to see things in a more positive light. Once it feels like you’ve reached rock bottom, there is really no where to go but up. Therefore, I hope that those who feel trapped and restless during the lockdown will allow themselves to grow and bond with their loved ones during this difficult time. Together, we can get through this. Do not lose hope and don't lose who you are. We are all in this as one and we will rise, stronger and fiercer than ever.
