E R I N

Hey you! Yes, you. The one that's reading this post. I hope you're having a good day and let's join me on a "walk" through my gallery with me today!

Hi, my name is Erin and I'm 19 this year. I am currently studying for a diploma in broadcasting & filmmaking at IACT College. I've always been interested in photography but I've never dared to step out of my circle. I've only ever taken pictures in my church as part of the photography team but have not really thought about doing more than that.

So as I was required to take photography as a subject this year, I was forced to come out of my comfort zone and really explored. Thanks to this, I've discovered so much more than just snapping a shot. So let's go!

This photo was taken for my second assignment which was to explore the photography path of portraiture. The model in this picture is @r1tasin and without her being a natural model, I don't think I would've gotten such a beautiful picture. I really like the touch of sunshine ray just around her torso area highlighting the shadow and adding a touch to the photograph. Her makeup and curly hair really compliment the mood and theme of the picture.

Location: Tamarind Square, Cyberjaya

I didn't want to take plain "staircase" pictures to portray the element of line. So I chose this part of the staircase that has vines of leaves hanging around at the back to add more colors and subject matter into the picture.

I really liked how the texture of the walls and ceiling can be seen from the angle that this picture was taken. The subject matter (model)'s pose/ movement chosen also adds a touch of life to the picture.

One of the struggles of studying through online classes would be doing assignments with the limited equipment I have at home. This picture was taken on my house's front porch where the sunlight is shining in and where there's the best lighting. I used a bright orange shirt as a backdrop to bring out the pattern and details of the oreo biscuit.

It definitely wasn't easy to snap this shot but I learned how to control the lighting and plus a little bit of editing and here's the final poster.

I've really enjoyed learning so much from this class this semester and I'm so glad to have been able to spend time with my friends through all these assignments. If you like what you saw, do check out my portfolio below to look at more of my work. Thank you and God bless!
