Hello, my name is Aliyana. A little bit about myself, I am 17 and currently taking Diploma in Broadcasting and Film at IACT college. The blog you’re reading right now is about my work throughout photography class. Since I am taking DIBF, I was expecting photography class to come up eventually and I was a little worried because I haven’t done photography seriously before. However, I’m pretty stoked to see how much I have learned and improved my photography during this short period of time. Plus, during this semester I got my very first camera! This will allow me to improve myself further as I learn my camera inside and out.

The last assignment involving photography was advertising. I knew I was lacking with my previous photos, so I wanted to make the photos I took in this one a little better. I had looked at a few YouTube tutorials on product photography and also browsed through Pinterest to gain inspiration. I basically looked around my house to find a good setting for my product, which was The Ordinary skincare product. I found this wooden block and snatched some plants from the garden produce this photo.
For journalism, I took a photo of my dad. I’ve never really took photos of my parents so; I took this opportunity to do so. My dad was the one who helped me buy the camera I’m using right now, so it would be right to include him. I was actually planning to take a candid photo of my dad since it was meant to be journalism, but my dad insisted and wanted to face the camera. Canon EOS M50 14-45mm

Here is one of the portraiture photo of my little brother under a blanket. I really like the picture because of the framing I created with the ladder. The ladder has been in my mom’s room for a while and I thought it would be interesting to utilise it in my photos. Since I needed to photograph a model for this assignment, I wasn’t able to go with my original plan due to covid :( So, I dragged my brother for this and I knew he wouldn’t agree if he had to show his face, so I compromised.
