Guan Yew

Hi, how's your day? Anyway, welcome to my blog, my name Is Guan Yew and Im turning 17 this year. Im a freelance photographer and I have been taking photos for 4 years now. I always love taking photos because I could capture a memorable moment that I can always look back at it. It was only a hobby until 3 years ago I discover someone called Chris Chew on Instagram, his a local freelance photographer and videographer. About one year later, his career blew up, he was traveling around the world to take photos/videos for raves, concert & events. But one thing that makes him my inspiration is that he was only 17 at that time, so it really opens my eyes that age does not matter, it doesn't stop you from chasing your dream, so that's what I did.

When I was 15 I started to take photography seriously and I started to shoot for my school dance events, where I can learn and get experience from. I did that for almost one year. After that one year of learning, getting connections and experience, I was ready. At the age of 16, I started freelancing and the fun just begins. During the freelance period, I have shot for weddings, gigs, events and more. I tried shooting for everything so I can to see what I like to shoot the most. After almost a year, I found it. Gigs are the most fun to shoot because I can just chill, listen to the song and doing what I do best, taking pictures.

So that's the story of my photography journey :) Enough talking, now let me show you some of my photos I have taken for my photography assignment.

PERFECTION

Just look at this photo, everything is just perfect. The lines, the shadows of the person and the perfectly spreaded space between them. It just gave me chills.

SELF LOVE

This photo is a reminder to always love yourself, do not forget that!

I achieve this photo by using a mirror and placing it on the bed and the model is laying down on the bed and that creates the reflection of the model. But is a little too plain for me, so I added fairy lights to it, so is more interesting.

ADVERTISING POSTER

This photo is to show that you don't need a lot of fancy equipment to achieve shots like this.

This photo is achieved by just using a simple wooden key holder and a small studio light. Why I chose a wooden background is because the product is stainless steel, shiny and glossy. So I try to find something opposite so that it will give a contrast between the product and the background.

So that's basically it for my blog, I hope you guys enjoy it as much I do writing it :)
