Emily Cheah

Hello friendsss!

Welcome to my blog. My name is Emily Cheah and I am 19 years old this year. I’m currently a Diploma student in Mass Communication studying in IACT college. Photography has always been my passion and I finally have the chance to use it in my studies. That’s the best part of this semester!

To me, photography are important memories that I can keep and show others. I believe that with photography, moments are captured and are able to be kept forever. In the future, I would definitely love to turn my hobby into a career.

Fear

This photo was taken for my second assignment -

Portraiture

I chose this topic "Fear" because fear has always been playing a big role in our lives.

With the help of my two friends, Dephyn Chew and Joeji Lee (hands),

I was able to create such a simple yet meaningful photo.

This photo brings out the flavor of FEAR.

Fear is scary as it controls our mind.

BUT

"Believe in yourself, take on your challenges, dig deep within yourself to conquer fears. Never let anyone bring you down. You got to keep going."- Chantal Sutherland

Homeless with Hope

I witnessed this incident through a convenience store in Pasar Seni, Gilasco’s glass window. This young man (right) stopped his motorbike next to this homeless man (left) and gets down from his vehicle and gave him a bag of buns.

They started a conversation and I left because I wanted to give them some privacy. After shooting around Pasar Seni, I passed by them and they were still having their simple but enjoyable talk. I love this picture so much as it represents that there are still people giving out sympathy and pure love in this brutal world.

Photojournalism. Reflection.

Capturing the moments

through a lens

Would you be able to capture a frozen movement with your bare eyes? The only thing that can capture these beautiful moments is a camera. Everything can be seen through a lens. Shutter Speed is one of my favorites in photography, it can capture teeny tiny bits of details that our bare eyes couldn’t.

This picture is taken for my second assignment –

Shutter Speed.

Thank you for reading till the end <3
