Hi there! I’m Erica, an 18-year-old who is pursuing a Diploma in Mass Communication at IACT College.
To be frank, photography wasn’t my biggest interest, not until I got enrolled into photography class. I fell in love with it through assignments, because experimenting with lights and compositions felt so amusing. The way light falls onto a subject matter and how it forms beautiful shadows is eye-pleasing, and to capture that moment is satisfying for me.
Purple Dream
Struggle-filled photoshoot.
Everything was rushed, I called my friends two days before the shoot, I had little to no props, all of us had tight schedules, all due to the sudden implementation of CMCO.
Fortunately, my friends agreed to help me out despite their stressful schedules, and I was lucky enough to have random stuff laying around my house.
It was tiring, but equally as rewarding. I love the outcome of this picture, but I think its value lies in the process of bringing the image to life, the laughter we shared, and what I’ve learnt from the process.
The Beauty in Light
I’ve always found lights to be beautiful. Be it the buzzling street lights, the yellowish night light, or the ray of sunshine coming through the window at 9am.
It took me hours to play with different compositions and angles, before finally getting the result I was satisfied with.
All in all, I had fun taking this picture.
Fresher Than Flowers
The sky wasn’t the prettiest that day, but the flowers made it work.
‘Adore’ is a perfume that gave me a sense of freshness, and I wanted to convey that feeling.
Those little flowers I plucked from the bushes represents that for me, so does the sky.
I remember it being breezy and chilly the day I took the photo.
I am glad that I had a chance to learn about this incredible art medium called photography. I’ve learnt a lot through the class, and I don’t think I would ever lose interest in it.
Well, guess who has a new hobby now?
