Hi!! My name is Jovine, but everyone calls me Jojo! (not a jjba reference,,,,unless) I'm currently 17 years old and an IACT Diploma in Graphics Design student. I entered IACT around February 2020 which is fortunately, before the outbreak and the stay-at-home movement. If we had physical classes this semester, I'm sure the photography classes would've been a blast! I'm not quite the photogenic person or someone who's super hyped about photography, but there are sparks of interest sometimes when I pull out a camera or my phone. I'm honestly lucky because my dad is a photographer and a graphic designer as well, so he was there to teach me a few tricks here and there. I think photography is a beautiful way of expressing yourself or other things. I'm still learning the ways of photography, but I'm sure that with enough experience, I'm able to capture and express the art and beauty of photography.
Below are some of the pictures I took myself during this MCO period. Most of them are taken by an Iphone 11 and all of the pictures I took are edited in AdobeLightroom.

The Lone Succulent
The image is captured for Assignment 1, in the subject "colour". This image show the different colours and contrast of each objects in the picture. There are a bunch of rocks with different colours and a single potted succulent plant.
I was in the garden while i took the pictures for assignment 1. At first, I had no idea on what to capture for "colour". I was done with the other subjects and I sat down to think what I could possibly do for "colour". Then, I noticed a bunch of rocks lying around in my garden. I decided to pick them up and arranged them on the white rocks. To make it look more aesthetic, I thought that green would be the perfect and most suitable contrast for this background. So, I picked up one of the many succulent plants my dad grew and placed it at the right place. That's how this picture was created.

Chilli Plant
This picture was used for Assignment 2, for the subject "framing". My aunt came over and I asked to take a few MCO related pics of her as she is a very photogenic person. My dad and my grandmother was there to help as well. We filled up a small watering pot for her and told her to look natural while watering my dad's chilli plant. This shows how MCO has affected us to stay at home more and eventually start to appreciate the things around us. As shown in the picture, she looks happy and joyful while watering the chilli plant. New hobbies or passion such as gardening can grow in this long period of time when we are stuck at home.

Iris
Iris is a greek goddess, known as the Goddess of Rainbows. This is one of my portraiture pictures themed as "colour". On pinterest, I found a creative idea on how to capture colourful images like this. I asked my sister to be the model for this picture. She sat in front of a blank wall as i closed all the blinds and turned off all the lights to ensure the setting is dark enough. Then, I held a torchlight and a disk in one hand and my phone on the other. It was quite messy as I had to take care of all 3 objects on my hands. I managed to shine the perfect angle of light on the disk which reflected a beautiful rainbow colour on her face.

Aurora
The meaning behind my chinese name is "Aurora". I felt that this picture had the same colours as the neon lights in the sky. I used a close concept as the previous picture, but with different tools. With 2 flashlights, I added tape over them and coloured on the tape with a blue marker and a red marker. When it's turned on, it shines a bright neon pink and blue. As usual, I made sure the settings were dark enough. I used a tripod for my phone and set the flashlights on a chair. I set the timer on my phone and took multiple pictures. This picture was especially pretty as the pink lights are consistent and shone aesthetically in the right places which portrayed the ambience of an aurora in the night sky.

The Flowering Skater
This picture is used for the still life photography assignment. I chose Vans because I'm a huge fan of their collections and I happen to have a pairs of them. Vans usually promote skateboarding as it is their aesthetic. I have a skateboard as well and I decided to collab both objects for the advertisement picture. On pinterest, I found an inspiration of a person putting flowers in their shoe. My mom had a few flowers and I placed them inside of my shoe. My phone was in front as I stepped onto the skateboard. It took a lot of tries because it was difficult to catch the correct angles and position. Plus, the flowers kept dropping out of my shoe and I had to take this picture under the scorching sun with a black sweater. I had to make sure i was wearing the perfect clothes as well. Finally, I was able to capture this pciture, with the correct angle and pose. I uploaded this picture in Photoshop and added a park B&W park and added a few more extra flowers on my shoe. This picture took the most effort and I'm really proud of the results.
