Greetings people, witches and creatures of the beautiful planet earth. The name's Edleena Sephia but I'm better known as Deena or Electric Lady (as some prefer to call me that now haha!) I am a 19-year-old singer-songwriter who has been obsessed with Grand Theft Auto ever since I first played it on my PS2 (good ole' days huh) and well let me list some of my favourite things on earth. Strawberry Sundae, Fleetwood Mac albums, my Hello Kitty Stratocaster, my copy of A Streetcar Named Desire's play and a good 80s sitcom! I'm usually writing and listening to my favourite classic rock albums when I'm not working on my music or studying. Now, I welcome you to my love letter to photography.
Learning photography has been a wonderful blessing to me as I've always been so fascinated by the idea photographs and photography class has taught me the technical parts of photography that I have never learnt before but now will incorporate in my future photographs!
I've always loved taking pictures and I love being captured too! I still keep some of the film strips of baby me that have yet to be developed! When I was 11, I fell in love with Jessica Lange's photography as her approach and style of photography is different, she captures her subject without engaging them to capture the sincerity of the moment
My emotions are on the surface of my skin, the simplest of things would just touch my soul and I would be like okay that has meaning to me now and that is why I love photography, because in that moment of me being moved by something that I see, I could instantly capture it and have that exact moment that has now become a part of my memory, in photograph. It could be a flock of pigeons, or just a reflection of my shadow on the road and now with the existence of Instagram, I can write poems and write whatever I'm feeling along that captures the essence of my photo.
Now moving on to my five fabulous pictures I took!
This photo was taken on the spur of the moment. Just two little girls, spending time together by the bayou (not exactly). I wonder what goes on in their mind and I wonder what they felt during this moment. Probably happy to be immerse in this paradise for awhile just enjoying life as kiddos.
This is a picture of my beloved guitar that I got as a gift when I was just nine! The line and shadow elements helped me capture a more dramatic look of this bright-looking guitar.
This too, was taken on the spur of the moment. It seemed like a perfect moment of two human beings sharing a connection.
Ah, a picture of froot loops a.k.a my go-to stress snack! I had a dream where I went to an ocean filled with froot loops! Thus the idea of this picture was born!
Saved the best picture for the last! Who doesn't love a good sunset in the background surrounded by one of earth's blessing that is the beach and sea! *Kokomo starts to play*
